As part of our efforts to keep everyone safe and well, the Welfare Team will be on hand to offer listening support, and do their best to try and resolve any issues or atleast give participants a space to talk through their feelings and hopefully feel a little better. As our Welfare Team is only made up of volunteers, and not train professionals, we are not able to provide anything more formal or therapeutic than this, but will do our best to help participants seek any further help they might need.
There will be an outdoor and an indoor designated Calm Space which will be set aside for participants to use. We ask all participants to be respectful of these spaces and they will have pertinent rules posted on them to ensure they are kept accessible and calm for all users.
A high proportion of those attending the event will have some degree of mental health issues, and so we ask everyone to be mindful of their own welfare and that of other people in what will be an unfamiliar and highly stimulating environment. We would advise anyone with mental health issues to have some plans in place for ensuring their wellbeing at the event, and will work with participants where we can with this.
If an interpersonal issue arises that is contributing to a welfare issue, the Welfare Team may try to help reduce these issues with participant’s consent, and may involve other teams where that would be helpful.
Whilst we will always do our best to assist, participants are ultimately responsible for their own Emotional Wellbeing whilst at Campersion.
