Mission & Aims

Our aim with the Campersion event is to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for Polyamorous and Ethically Non-Monogamous people to socialize and enjoy a range of community focused and delivered activities in an understanding and friendly environment.

We want to ensure that all Poly and ENM people feel welcome, no matter their background, relationship status or styles, or for any other reason that they may feel less comfortable or less able to access local poly-centric spaces.

We also specifically want to ensure the space is inviting to families with children, as these often face difficulty in accessing poly-centric spaces and events which frequently brand as adult-only. In doing so we hope that all our participants will be supportive and encouraging to poly families with children, and help us in making the event as accessible for them as possible.

Additionally, we welcome the event being used for people from a diverse set of local poly communities to meet and share support, knowledge, and best practice in ENM activism. Helping highlight the good work people are doing locally to promote acceptance of Poly and ENM relationships is very important to us, and through events like this we hope to support communications and co-ordination between people and groups to better promote all the good aspects of ENM.

Given the makeup of our community, the event will be fully queer, trans, and disabled positive, as these groups make up an integral part of our community and we will do all we can to include and recognize these groups’ contribution to the community. Nonetheless, people of all sexualities, gender identities, and abilities will be welcome and supported to attend our event.

Campersion is a sex-positive organization and event, and whilst all content and activities will be family friendly or be designated 18+ only, we respect that open and honest discussions of sex and sexuality are an essential part of social and emotional wellbeing.

Campersion hopes to offer a welcoming space particularly also to those parts of our community that are not often well represented, particularly people of colour and elderly people and are working with partnership groups to ensure our events are inclusive to these groups aswell. We invite all staff, volunteers, participants, and partnership organizations to contribute to making Campersion the best it can be by lending their skills, knowledge, and experience, and by providing constructive feedback on all our events.
